Some of the team not long after setting out on an Autumn exploration of the Te Tapui - Maungakawa Scenic Reserve near Matamata in the Waikato... The park is a remnant highland forest of a type now rare in the Waikato. The forest clothes the stubs of two ancient andesite volcanoes - now well worn down to a height of just 495 metres - but still dominating the local area in all directions.
